As the city of love and the home of Romeo and Juliet, Verona has plenty to offer romantically. Apart from this Verona is the largest city municipality in the region of Veneto. Veneto is located in northern Italy, and is one of the few places in Italy where a large number of people still speak venetian, instead of Italian. The scenery in Veneto mainly consists of vigorous mountains and valleys filled with smaller cities and life. In the west part of the region, Verona is located.

Verona is full of cultural sights as well. There are pretty plazas at every turn and the smell of freshly baked pastry and roasted coffee beans pulls you by the nose every third second. Food in Verona is no joke, and taken very seriously, which means markets with fresh and locally grown produce are very present. If you choose to eat out you’ll be met by only the best quality possible, and most likely also a glass or two of wine from regional wineries. 

Some of the most well-known restaurants include Café Carducci, a 1920s inspired bistro, or Pescheria I Masenini, a sea-food based restaurant located where Verona's Roman fish market once bloomed, Masenini serves up Verona's most imaginative and modern fish dishes.

Verona is surrounded by astonishing nature, and is bordered by lush vineyards and foothills. The river Adige crosses the city as well, and to the west lies the famous lake Garda. Overall the area close by Verona has a good deal of wildern experiences and remarkable scenery to offer. The weather is mild and comfortable, which makes excursions or small trips in the surrounding nature quite attainable. 

Accomodation in Verona is a lot more accessible than other large italian cities, as it’s less touristy, yet still visited by many throughout the year. You can either choose to go for an apartment downtown and be able to walk or go by bike everywhere, or you can choose to branch out a bit into the rural areas and truly feel the serenity of nature, while getting a lot of square meters of habitable space for your money.
