This privacy policy describes how HT Medier ApS processes your personal data ("the User") in connection with the use of Housingtarget.com, including associated pages and functions ("the Service").

2. Processing activities
2.1 Processing of personal data in connection with the creation of a User profile

2.1.1 In connection with the creation of a User profile, the following personal data about the User will be processed: 

  • Information about whether the User is looking for or offering rental housing
  • IP address
  • Email

2.1.2 In addition, the User may choose to add additional personal data to the User profile, including name, company name and phone number.

2.1.3 When creating a User profile via Facebook, the following information is collected and processed: name, email and, where applicable, profile photo from the User’s Facebook profile. When creating a User profile through Google, the following information is collected and processed: name and email from the User’s Google Account. The collected information is used for the creation of a User profile and search ad and can be viewed on the User’s profile page when the User is logged in.

2.1.4 The legal basis for processing the User’s personal data is the Service’s legitimate interest in being able to identify the User in connection with the creation of a User profile and login to the Service (pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

2.2 Processing of personal data in connection with the User’s use of the Service
2.2.1 In connection with the User’s use of the Service, the Service collects and processes the following personal data about the User:

  • Name
  • Company name
  • Email
  • Telephone number
  • IP address
  • Images
  • Information about whether the User is looking for or offering rental housing
  • Information about which advertisements or search advertisements the User has requested more information about
  • Information about which search agents the User has created
  • Information about which searches the User has carried out in the advertisement database or search advertisement database
  • Information about and data from advertisements or search advertisements created by the User
  • Information about and data from the User’s company profile
  • Information about which IP addresses the User has registered from
  • Information about which IP addresses the User has logged in from in connection with the purchase of services on the Service
  • Email correspondence with the User
  • Copies of important confirmation emails that the User receives from the Service
  • Log data about the User’s visit history, including IP address, time of visit, referring websites, pages visited, functions used and content visited
  • Cookie and tracking data in connection with use of the Service
  • Information about the User’s consents, preferences and settings
  • Invoices, credit notes and information about unsuccessful purchase attempts
  • Information about the purpose and outcome of the User’s use of the Service, including whether the User has found new rental housing, and any invitation to review the Service’s services

2.2.2 The legal basis for the processing is the Service’s legitimate interest in being able to identify the User, deliver and improve the Service, communicate with the User and prevent and investigate misuse of the Service (see Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

2.3 Processing of personal data in connection with purchases

2.3.1 In connection with the User upgrading to a paying user, the Service or the Service’s payment providers collect and process the following personal data about the User:

  • Name, company name and telephone number for the purpose of identification and completion of the purchase
  • Email and IP address for the purpose of identification and completion of the purchase
  • Payment card details, order number and invoice number for the purpose of completing the purchase

2.3.2 The legal basis for the processing is that the processing is necessary to perform and fulfil the agreement with the User (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation) and to comply with statutory documentation requirements, including requests from authorities (Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

2.4 Processing of personal data in connection with individual optimisation of the User’s use

2.4.1 The Service may use the User’s personal data to inform the User about optimised use of the Service and about new content that matches the User’s search patterns. In this connection, the following personal data is processed:

  • Name
  • Company name
  • Email
  • Telephone number
  • IP address
  • Images
  • Information about whether the User is looking for or offering rental housing
  • Information about which advertisements or search advertisements the User has requested more information about
  • Information about which search agents the User has created
  • Information about which searches the User has carried out in the advertisement database or search advertisement database
  • Information about and data from advertisements or search advertisements created by the User
  • Information about and data from the User’s company profile
  • Information about which IP addresses the User has registered from
  • Information about which IP addresses the User has logged in from in connection with the purchase of services on the Service
  • Email correspondence with the User
  • Copies of important confirmation emails that the User receives from the Service
  • Log data about the User’s visit history, including IP address, time of visit, referring websites, pages visited, functions used and content visited
  • Cookie and tracking data in connection with use of the Service
  • Information about the User’s consents, preferences and settings
  • Invoices, credit notes and information about unsuccessful purchase attempts

2.4.2 Certain information about usage patterns may be used to improve the user experience and adapt relevant offers and functions.

2.4.3 The legal basis for the processing is the Service’s legitimate interest in being able to offer the User the best and most efficient use of the Service (see Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

2.5 Processing of personal data in connection with statistics, improvement and further development of the Service

2.5.1 The Service uses personal data as part of the collection of statistics and the improvement, optimisation and further development of the Service and its functions.

2.5.2 The legal basis for the processing is the Service’s legitimate interest in understanding the use of the Service and gaining insight into potential optimisation and development opportunities for the services offered through the Service and the website, with a view to improving the Service and the User’s experience of the Service.

2.6 Processing of personal data in connection with statutory documentation requirements

2.6.1 The Service stores copies of important confirmation emails to the User, dialogues between the Service and the User, and invoices and credit notes.

2.6.2 In connection with the above, personal data about the User is processed only to the extent necessary in relation to the relevant documentation requirements.

2.6.3 The legal basis for the processing is the Service’s legitimate interest in being able to document communication and events (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation) and to comply with legal obligations, including requirements under bookkeeping rules, marketing rules and data protection rules (Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

2.7 Processing of personal data in connection with optimisation of the relevance of marketing

2.7.1 If the User has consented to marketing cookies, the Service or advertising media with which the Service cooperates, such as Google and Facebook, may collect and process information about IP address and activity, such as page views, creation of a User profile and purchases. The purpose is to make the Service’s marketing more relevant to the User. The information may be combined by the advertising media with other personal data that they have registered about the User.

2.7.2 The legal basis for processing based on marketing cookies is the User’s consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation). To the extent that the processing is carried out for the purpose of measuring and improving the Service’s marketing, the processing may also be based on the Service’s legitimate interest in making the marketing more relevant and effective (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

3. Storage and deletion of personal data
3.1 The Service collects, processes and stores only the personal data that is necessary for the purposes described in section 2. When the User’s personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the Service’s stated purposes, the User’s personal data is deleted.

3.2 If a User deactivates their profile, the personal data will be deleted or anonymised no later than 3 months after the account has been closed. The information is stored during this period to give the User the opportunity to reactivate their profile and regain access to their information, and to enable the Service to prevent and investigate misuse and fake profiles.

3.3 Personal data related to purchases, invoices and credit notes is stored for as long as necessary to comply with applicable legislation, including rules on the storage of accounting material and the obligation to be able to disclose information to the tax authorities.

3.4 Important emails, confirmation messages and dialogues between the Service and the User are stored for as long as necessary to handle enquiries, complaints, disputes and documentation requirements.

3.5 As an alternative to deletion, the Service may instead choose to anonymise personal data. Anonymised personal data falls outside the scope of data protection legislation.

4. Sharing of personal data and categories of recipients
4.1 The following categories of recipients may, in connection with the processing, gain access to the User’s personal data:

  • IT suppliers and data suppliers that provide technical services to the platform
  • Suppliers of plugins and technical functions
  • Payment providers
  • Marketing providers
  • Email providers
  • Finance and invoicing systems
  • Google Maps, when functions or content from Google Maps are used
  • Advertising media in accordance with section 2.7
  • Audit and bookkeeping providers
  • Group companies of HT Medier ApS that handle support, operation, maintenance and other tasks related to the Service

Recipients may in certain cases be established outside the EEA. The Service only transfers personal data to organisations or countries where an adequate level of protection exists, for example through the European Commission’s adequacy decision or by using the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

4.2 To the extent compatible with applicable rules, HT Medier ApS may share the User’s personal data with other companies in the same group.

4.3 The User’s personal data may be shared with other Users on the Service in connection with the User’s use of the Service and as part of the actions that the User performs. See the Service’s terms.

4.4 The Service’s services may contain links to other websites that have their own policies for the processing of personal data. The Service is not responsible for data protection matters at third parties that do not provide services to or have any affiliation with the Service.

5. The User's rights
5.1
Pursuant to data protection legislation, the User has the following rights in connection with the Service’s processing of the User’s personal data:

  • Right to information about and access to the personal data that the Service processes about the User
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate personal data
  • Right to deletion in certain cases. Requests for deletion may be sent to support@housingtarget.com
  • Right to restriction of processing in certain cases
  • Right to object to the processing of personal data, including processing for direct marketing
  • Right to data portability in certain cases

5.2 The User may always withdraw their consent if the processing is based on consent. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5.3 The User has the right to ask the Service to stop using personal data for direct marketing.

5.4 In certain cases, a request for deletion may mean that the Service can no longer provide services to the User.

6. Complaints regarding the processing of personal data
6.1 If the User is dissatisfied with the Service’s processing of personal data, wishes to access their personal data or has another question, the User may always contact the Service by email at support@housingtarget.com or at the address stated in section 1.1.
