What is a home?

A home is a place to build memories. It can be an apartment, a house, a room, or a townhouse. Whether owned or rented, it means shelter, comfort, and security.

When you have a home, you pay a monthly mortgage or rent based on its size, location, and other factors. For those renting, it's important to understand the terms of the lease, detailing what is part of the rent and what responsibilities you hold as a tenant.

There are several benefits to having a home.

Firstly, it offers stability and a sense of belonging, allowing you to personalize your space.

Secondly, it provides a base, making it easy to move if you're renting or to settle if you've purchased.

Thirdly, homeowners or landlords are usually responsible for significant repairs, ensuring your living space remains comfortable.

In essence, having a home offers peace and a sense of place. Whether you're renting or owning, it provides a refuge from the world. When renting, you have the freedom to shift with ease, not needing to worry about selling but simply ending the lease.

Useful to know when you are searching for home in Padua

Padua is not in the least one of the largest cities in Italy, however this doesn’t mean it hasn’t got plenty to offer in many ways. It’s located in the region of Veneto in Northern Italy and is home to 203.725 (2021) inhabitants. It’s less visited than Venice which is just 40 km away and in the same region, but Padua certainly doesn’t go unnoticed in Italian history, and is still an important pin on the Italian map.

Padua is greatly known for the University of Padua, which was founded in 1222, by a group of students who chose to leave the University of Bologna. The famous astronomer, physician and philosopher Galileo Galilei taught mathematics there, and the astronomer and doctor Nicolaus Kopernikus went to school there later in 1501. Many students flock to the city with the intention of studying at the university where great scientists studied in the past. Padua also attracts many historically and artistically interested tourists. The world recognized artist Giotto built the chapel of Scrovegni in the first years of the 14th century, which still stands tall and enriches many thousands of visitors every year with the alluring walls full of paintings by Giotto.

Roman architecture adorns the city with idyllic scenery, in all seasons. As Padua is located in northern Italy the weather is not in the leagues of the southern cities, yet it still hits the thirties in summer and just above freezing degrees in winter, which means it’s perfectly fitted to the person who enjoys dependable weather. There are plenty of opportunities to experience the classic Italian cuisine throughout the city, combined with many more modern gastronomic kitchens with food from all over the world.

The safety of the city is also one of its great qualities, and it has many times been praised for it by expats moving here or simply Italians moving from other cities. Jobwise, the University supplies the area with many opportunities in terms of full time employment or just part time jobs. Furthermore Padua is considered one of the largest industrial cities of Italy. The large industrial buildings are located further away from the centre in the commune, which means the city centre remains rather untouched and architecturally aesthetic. Padua produces many products which export to the rest of the world, including motorcycles, textiles and agricultural equipment.
