Lerkigrund is a private residence set in the open countryside of Eyjafjarðarsveit, 8 km south of Akureyri in North Iceland. Surrounded by fields, mountains, and expansive views, the house offers a combination of stillness, space, and proximity to a vibrant regional town - quiet rural surroundings paired with easy access to culture, services, and travel connections.
The house has been designed with an awareness of the surroundings. Large windows allow the landscape to become part of everyday life. The changing light, the shifting weather, and the wide northern horizon are present, from the living room, the terrace, and the private rooms of the house.
Lerkigrund is intended for guests who value privacy, comfort, and thoughtful design. It is well suited to couples, families, and international visitors seeking a more personal and refined way to experience North Iceland.
The house itself is a fully developed residence of 145 m2. It is a one-off architectural solution developed specifically for this site.
The layout is clear and deliberate, with a strong separation between social and private spaces, and with careful attention to proportion, movement, and the way in which the building meets the landscape. Guest have access to a private hot tub and EV charging.
Ásar Guesthouse, just 200 metres away, is a well-regarded nearby option where breakfast or supper can be arranged in advance.
